Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Why was KàdàràBrite founded?
KàdàràBrite was founded in 2016 by Tola Oloyede in response to the educational inequalities faced by orphans and vulnerable children living in care (OVC). Many children lack access to quality education, mentorship and financial support, which hinders their ability to thrive. Our mission is to bridge this gap and create sustainable opportunities for these children across Africa.
How is KàdàràBrite different?
KàdàràBrite stands out by focusing on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) living in care. We specifically support children living in orphanages or care homes. Beyond scholarships, we offer mentorship, skill-development programs and internship opportunities. Partnering with organisations, we collaborate with institutions and individuals to expand access to education. Hosting scholarship listings, we provide a platform for individuals and organisations to list their scholarships, helping more disadvantaged children connect with opportunities.
Does KàdàràBrite keep a share of donations?
No, KàdàràBrite does not take a percentage of donations meant for scholarships. All scholarship funds go directly to the scholars.
Who is eligible to apply to become a KàdàràBrite scholar?
Eligibility requirements vary by scholarship, but generally, applicants must be orphans or vulnerable children in care, currently enrolled in a university. They should demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and financial need while meeting any specific criteria outlined in the application process.
What does KàdàràBrite offer students?
KàdàràBrite offers scholarships to outstanding students, along with expert guidance across various fields. Through the KàdàràBrite STAR Program, we provide training in technology, creativity, and digital skills. Our scholarship application training equips students with the skills to craft compelling applications, while our e-resources offer valuable books and guides for scholarship applications.
